Ci siamo incontrati la prima volta al caffè Pagano di via Cavour, dove il gruppo romano si riuniva settimanalmente. Io, timido principiante; lui, già padrone dell’arte, nonostante il suo pudico pseudonimo.
Simpatizzammo subito e la reciproca simpatia durò da quella sera al giorno della sua morte.
Nessuna rivalità, nemmeno quando la mia firma cominciò a valere. Fummo insieme nella RASSEGNA, poi nel fondare IL LABIRINTO, poi in BALKIS e in DEDALO, riviste nelle quali Favolino sapeva parlare di storia e di tecnica dell’enigmistica, oltre a sfornare giochi su giochi.
